THE FOUNDER
Kevin Jean-Charles
Kevin Jean-Charles brings institutional discipline to private capital. As Founder, Executive Chairman of Finslide Technology Corp., he partners with founders, executives, and family offices — acquiring companies and structuring win/win partnerships with businesses generating $500K to $11M in revenue through a global acquisition accelerator that has completed $1 billion in transactions over eight years.
He oversees the company's executive functions and designed the systems and technology that made Finslide an honoree at the Best for NYC Awards in 2015. Within the first two years, Kevin joined the Centre for Social Innovation NYC, launched Finslide 1.0 on the Google Play and Apple App Stores, secured Microsoft enterprise tools, and became a Summer Youth Employment Program employer. He then led the parent company to earn B-Corp and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) certification, the flagship corporate certification for the private sector, and served on the MBE Input Committee. The Finslide solution is the byproduct of Kevin's experience with socially conscious business ventures across 10 urban cities.
In 2008, he became Principal of Global Equity Partners Inc., which acquired Front Row Limousine Inc., a 24-year-old limousine company. After the acquisition, he upgraded the systems, expanded the services, and launched Front Row DMC. The company serviced 400 corporate and retail accounts, including clients like McVeigh Associates (a global meeting planner), Atlanta Gas Light, and Verizon Wireless, before a successful operating-partner exit.
In 2003, before becoming Principal of Global Equity Partners Inc., he was the owner of Genesis Companies Inc., which acquired assets in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Jersey City, Long Island, Detroit, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Dallas.
Kevin attended the Questrom School of Business at Boston University (formerly the School of Management) from 1998 to 2001, where he earned a BSBA with a concentration in finance. During his time at BU, he was selected for a rotational finance program at Bear Stearns, where he gained exposure to fixed income trading desks, equity trading desks, and investment banking departments. He also co-captained a six-person team that developed a 365-page business operating plan, which won first place in the Boston University Core program out of 36 teams. Outside of work, Kevin enjoys meditating and dancing.

A note on my father
Lessons I learned growing up with a father who was married for 55 years.
I was fortunate to grow up with a very quiet and patient father who allowed me to take calculated risks. When I made a mistake, he never made me feel terrible about it.
He knew I was smart and had wisdom, and would continue to find my way — it was just part of the process. My father always understood that time heals, no matter how difficult the circumstances.
Initially, if you have a tough challenge or learning lesson, it can seem huge because you're so close to it. But as time goes on, especially if you're taking in quality information, you can rise to a higher level from the experience that learning lesson gave you.
I remember when my parents had a strong discussion and my mother said something mean — he wouldn't respond. He'd get quiet and walk away.
That always stuck with me, and it has helped me tremendously when dealing with difficult people. Not everything deserves a response in the present moment, especially when emotions are elevated. It doesn't mean you ignore the problem or challenge — it can be revisited at another time.
If somebody keeps coming at you for a response, you simply say, "This is not a good time to discuss. Let's finish the week and discuss this next week or the week after." Usually what I found is that the challenge or problem is gone in a week, or a solution has popped up in a week.
That's what 55 years of marriage taught me. I love my mother - she held our family together in her own way. This note is about my father, but the goal is bigger than either of them: keeping families together, whether they agree or disagree.
